Luggage Allowance

LUGGAGE ALLOWANCE - LUGGAGE CAPACITY ON HELICOPTERS

The luggage capacity on helicopters can vary depending on the size and model of the helicopter. Generally, smaller helicopters such as Robinson R44 or Bell 206 JetRanger may have limited luggage space, typically enough for a few small bags or pieces of luggage. Larger helicopters like the AS355 or ACH135 have more storage space and can accommodate larger amounts of luggage.

It's important to check with the helicopter operator for specific information on luggage capacity for a particular helicopter model. They will be able to provide you with details on the amount and size of luggage that can be safely accommodated on the helicopter.

As a clear guideline - each passenger should not be carrying more than ONE MEDIUM SIZED SUITCASE. Helicopters are not suitable for hard cases/bags for example ‘Samsonite’ cases.

In any case there also weight limitations and as a rule of thumb luggage until 15 kg for each passenger is allowed.

If you wish to have your luggage in the helicopter with you, you will need to use soft bags that can be squashed into the small luggage compartments. If you have excess luggage quantity or size, alternative arrangements will need to be organized.

For the Heliski transfers most of the helicopters utilized are equipped with external basket where skies- snowboards and luggage can carried.
